aBOUT ME

I am an interdisciplinary artist and filmmaker with a passion for experimental film, artist cinema, and sociopolitical documentary. I see film as a medium for advocacy, exploration, and social change, focusing on themes of identity, mental illness, neurodiversity, and society. My work is influenced by the introspective and chaotic styles of Harmony Korine, Gus Van Sant, Andrea Arnold, and Emerald Fennell. I am particularly drawn to their use of gritty realism and abstract techniques. In my experimental practice, I employ a range of multimedia approaches, blending digital and analogue methods to create immersive sensory experiences. I work with Super8, VHS, Hi8, film photography, analogue projections, tape loops, and digital VFX, crafting a layered, tactile aesthetic that embraces imperfection and unpredictability.I am also deeply engaged with documentary filmmaking, inspired by thought-provoking works such as Prison by Paddy Wivell and To Catch A Copper by Ashley Francis-Roy. I believe documentary has the power to expose societal truths, foster empathy, and inspire change. My experience includes conducting Vox Pop and talking-head interviews, as well as in-depth research, fact-checking, and archival sourcing for both academic and film projects.Comedy is another significant influence in my work, particularly the absurdist and satirical styles seen in The Eric Andre Show and Jackass. These works shape my approach to storytelling, infusing humour with raw, unfiltered emotion and a sense of chaos.Advocacy and inclusivity are central to my work. As co-lead of my university’s Neurodiverse Society, I actively promote accessibility within the creative industries. I ensure my films ethically represent diverse communities and frequently collaborate with first-time actors to foster authenticity. I am an active member of the National Survivor User Network, and regularly campaign for systematic changes within mental health services.Beyond filmmaking, my artistic practice extends into caricature art, street photography, and poetry. These mediums allow me to critique and reflect on society, identity, and my lived experiences as a neurodiverse, queer, trauma survivor navigating a neurotypical world. My caricature paintings have made it into many exhibitions such as the HOME Manchester Open 2024 exhibit, which featured by painting, Crisps, Crisps, Salt and Vinegar Crisps. I embrace a wide range of artistic forms, from traditional media like clay to digital tools such as Adobe Creative Suite, using them as vehicles for expression, experimentation, and advocacy.
